Holiday Time!!

It is once again the beginning of the wonderful holiday season. I love the holidays and can't wait for Christmas. We are not even yet to Thanksgiving and I am already worried about all the Christmas gifts and getting everything done. We have put up the tree and need to finish all the other decorating that goes along with it. I wonder every year how in the world I have so many Christmas decorations? I mean really does one family need all this stuff, lol!! Of course every year I find myself looking at all the Christmas pretties and wanting to buy more, I will try to exercise some self-control this year.

I have many numerous things to be thankful for not only at this time of year but always. I take for granted how blessed I am. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I can't wait for the early morning shopping on Friday! Good luck to all the fellow bargain hunters!

Wordful Wednesday-Summer Vacation

This summer we went on a vacation. This was the first time in awhile we had done this. We usually just go visit family and count that as our vacation time but this year was different. Some friends of ours were planning a trip and asked if we wanted to go we said yes and we planned the trip and left 1 week later, which is really spur of the moment for me. We had a great time and hope to go back again this summer.

Right after we got there and unloaded heading to the beach.

Family photo

Riding on the ferry to go eat dinner. I just love this look!

Happy boy!
Lunch on the beach.

Waiting to eat dinner at the best place we ate the whole trip, it was awsome!

Getting ready to head home after we check out some of the shops. Sadly time to come home and back to real life!

Wonderful Monday!?!

Philippians 2:13-15 (New International Version)

13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe

_______________________________________________________________________

These last few weeks have been so busy and hectic around here and for many others too I know. It doesn't look like things are going to slow down with the holidays going to be here in the blink of an eye. 37 days til Christmas, I really don't believe that is true but it is!!!

I get so busy and bogged down with everything all the time and sometimes I get grumpy and complain, I know no one believes that, but it is true from time to time. It makes me think about the verse above. This week and during the busy, hectic, joyful, happy and sometimes stressful holiday time coming ahead I hope that I can keep this verse in mind and have the attitude that I need to have.

I hope that everyone has a great week!

Craft Show

This weekend I went and did a craft show. My sister-in-law Lori and I shared a booth. I made bows and bow hangers, she made jewelry and our mother-in-law made candy so our booth was full. It was stressful at first because I had no idea what to expect at all, but overall it went well!

Here is a picture of me with my bows.

This is a picture of my bow hangers.

Wordful Wednesday-Fun Day Together

This picture of Colton was taken when we went to the pumpkin farm with one of his friends and her mom. This day was a rare day off with no other kids and just us. Although Colton loves having his friends over everyday, Momma enjoys a break now and then with just her boy. I think he thinks that his friends are just here to play not because they have to be because their parents are working. It just reminds me of the little joys I am getting to share with him right now. In the day to day hustle and bustle of life I sometimes take these little moments for granted or think I am too busy and have too much to do to stop and enjoy it. This day we just stopped and enjoyed the day and didn't worry about what there was to do at home. I love days like this. Although we are always home together we don't get a lot of opportunities to go out and do stuff that is fun for him. I also just love the pictures and think they are so cute. You will start to figure out that I LOVE pictures if you look at my blog very much.

Monday Madness

Here we are at the beginning of another week. The list of things to do already seems endless and it is only just beginning.... Hopefully Colton will be better this week. Last week he had an ear infection and a throat virus. The virus caused sores in his mouth and it hurts to eat and is just sore. He seems to be feeling some better after 4 days of laying around, which for anyone who knows him knows is not typical him. I pray that he heals quickly and gets back to normal. It is so hard when your baby is not feeling well.

This week for me will be bows, bows, and more bows!! We are going to be going to a craft show to try to sell some things, so I am finishing up all my products. I was hoping to have it all done but I will by the show! Hopefully things will go good there. I am very excited about seeing how it goes.

I hope that everyone has a good week!

My Baby Boy

Above is a picture of Scott and Colton after he was born. We had a long rocky road getting Colton into this world. To me he will always be the little fragile 4 lb 7 oz baby but he is turning into this big boy. It is really hard on Momma. I look at his pictures when he is so tiny and it brings back so many memories and all the hopes for his future we had and still have. It is hard to believe how fast the time fies by. You go from the picture above to the picture below in the blink of an eye.

I love this group of pictures. The tux picture was taken at my cousin's wedding where he was ring bearer. He has been in 5 weddings, I will have to do a post about that one day with all his pictures. The middle picture was just a random picture that always brings a smile to my face his face just radiates joy and happines. The last one is the 1st day of preschool when he was 3 and is just so him. He is a true blessing to us. I love the fact that I can be here for him right now but know one day he will be a truly BIG boy and I will have to let go. I know wI have to take little steps along the way and I am not ready to give up my baby yet. Daddy is excited about him getting bigger and wanting to do stuff with him. I am very proud of my boy who will to me always be my baby boy.

This was a week of a lot of blog firsts for me! Today was my first Photostory Friday

Thankful Thursday-Giving Thanks

Sometimes I am guilty of taking things for granted and just expecting things to be all good, that is the way it is supposed to be right? Trials and troubles in day to day life are what cause us to be able to be thankful and appreciate the good. I am thankful for my family, our health, our church and how blessed we truly are even if I do at times take it for granted. I found this verse below and it summed up my thoughts on how everything we are and everything we are able to accomplish comes from God. He will work through us, but we have to be willing and allow Him into our hearts and give Him the control. I struggle with that one a lot too, I like my control, I am working on that though.

1 Chronicles 29:11-13

"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.

Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name."

Wordful Wednesday-A Boy & His Money

I am trying to follow in the steps of several of the avid bloggers I know. Wordful Wednesday is hosted by Angie at

I now present to you my 1st Wordful Wednesday post!!

Colton got a Halloween card from his Nana and Poppy with a dollar bill in it. We opened it, read it and set it aside. Later that night he showed his Daddy his dollar. He called Nana and said thank you. She asked what he would buy which included stuff way over his dollar!! She said she might have to send more, lol!! She asked if he like the card or the money better, his reply was I like the card and the money. She finally got out of him he liked the money best. Daddy tucked him in and when I went to go check on him this is what I found. It was so priceless I had to take a picture.

Halloween Fun

On Halloween we drove to my parents house and Colton was able to make it to a few houses to trick or treat, which he thought was so fun! We went to a carnival the weekend before with some friends from church. It was way too crowded for the adults but kids always seem to have fun no matter what. Here are some pictures of our Spiderman.

Follow the Leader

This saying only applies to kids, right? Of course not, lol!! I have been thinking about having a family blog since I started my bow blog and have been learning how to navigate around in the blog world. A lot of people I know have started or have already had blogs for awhile. I love sharing pictures and getting to know people better through their blogs. I figured it wasn't really fair for me to be nosing into other peoples lives without giving them a chance to do the same so here is your chance. I don't know how good I will be at this but I am going to give it a try.
